Giggle Academy, an education-focused startup, was started by Binance founder Changpeng ‘CZ’ Zhao. However, the platform’s official X account has been hit by a cyber attack. CZ has warned his followers about the false information the account has been posting. The phishing links shared by the hackers have raised security concerns among the platform’s users. The account is still under threat and both CZ and his team are working to resolve the situation. Users are advised to be wary of messages coming from the hacked account.
Binance founder makes a statement
In a post dated November 16, CZ announced that Giggle Academy’s official X account had been compromised by hackers. The hackers shared false information announcing that the platform had appointed a “new CEO” and encouraged users to click on phishing links to verify the news. The account has still not been recovered. CZ and the Binance team are working hard to get the account back. CZ has warned his followers to be wary of suspicious content and links until the account is secured.
Giggle Academy is an initiative launched by CZ to provide free education for grades 1-12. Aiming to make learning both accessible and fun through gamification methods, the platform aims to make a big difference especially in countries with low literacy rates. This project, which has no revenue model, aims to revolutionize global education.
CZ’s new vision
Changpeng Zhao (CZ) is known as the founder of Binance and the former CEO of the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange. CZ, who left his position as Binance CEO due to legal difficulties, decided to focus on new projects. Giggle Academy aims to provide an accessible, gamified learning experience, especially for students in disadvantaged areas, by combining artificial intelligence (AI) and blockchain technology with education.
With Giggle Academy, CZ envisions a global education transformation that empowers students in regions with low literacy rates. Aiming to provide personalized, transparent and accessible learning experiences through artificial intelligence and blockchain, this initiative plans to bring a global innovation to children’s education. CZ emphasized that users should use common sense when evaluating content regarding the hacking of Giggle Academy’s X account: “Always use common sense when you read content.”
The crypto community wished CZ success in resolving the hacking issue. As an important detail, CZ had shared a screen recording of the Giggle Academy app before the hacking incident. This app aims to teach children English, math and blockchain for free starting at the age of four. Last week, CZ referred to a tweet he shared a year ago, reiterating the importance of crypto, which he described as “a better form of money that supports billions.” After Bitcoin reached a historic peak of $93,434, CZ called on his followers to “be on the right side of history.”
